St Joseph IL Real Estate

The real estate market in the out lying areas of Champaign and Urbana is still very attractive and is still selling. One of those areas is St Joseph. This community boast great schools and is ideally situated between Champaign/Urbana and Danville.

The driving force in most communities is location and the school districts which serve it.  St Joseph is served by 3 different school district, of which all of them excel. The kinder-garden through 8th grade children are served by 2 of the districts. St Joseph CCSD 169 and Prairie View Ogden CCSD 197. Both schools rank very high in state testing.

Champaign Real Estate - on Fire!

Sadly, this story is not about the Champaign Real Estate market as much as it about a landmark that is currently burning. The Metropolitan building as it commonly known is located at the corner of Neil and Church is as I write this blog it is burning down. The second and third stories have just collapsed. The call for the fire was received at around 5:15 this morning. Currently there are about 19 trucks and countless numbers of firefighters trying to control the blaze. The local news channels are reporting that no one was in the building, that is certainly good news.

Champaign and Urbana Real Estate Investing

What a great time to consider investing in Champaign real estate.

If your credit score is good and you have built up some equity in your current home or if you have other means for available money, I have never seen a time that I think is any better. There are some great properties that are ready for a new owner.

I have had some friends and acquaintance’s ask about investing in real estate for their children’s college education.

Champaign Il Real Estate Trading Up

Welcome to Urbana Real Estate - Littlefield-homesI am asked almost everyday about being in a buyers market. I would have to agree that most of the country is in a buyers market.

With that being said, I had a good friend and very wise business man make a comment to me that he has never seen a better time for home buyers to “trade up“.

I asked why he felt this was the time to do that and his response was that while you may not hit a home run on the sale of your current home, there has never (in recent history) been a better time to move up to the home that you and your family has always wanted and needed.
